The Monkey Tree Pub
The origin of the pub’s name came from a 60 ft high Monkey Tree outside which “was a natural beacon and landmark to the community” the tree is now gone but but the Pub has secured itself as a the friendly neighbourhood watering hole around these parts.
The Lochside Trail
Formerly a railway line this trail stretches from Swartz Bay to Victoria, past beaches, farmland, and wetlands, down country lanes and beside suburban backyards. You might find The Lochside Trail is your new best friend when commuting to work on your bike; it intersects with the Galloping Goose Regional Trail taking you all the way downtown to the Johnson Street Bridge.
